The surgeon thought he was going in for appendicitis, so the cut ended up being nasty, and a good sized chunk of her skin died. Look! You can see her peeing! I love a good catheter. |

About three weeks after the surgery, the doctor had to cut off that dead skin which had turned black and crustified. I wish this photo hadn't come out so blurry. That yellowish spot in the middle of her belly is actually her fat which can be seen as a result of the incision splitting open. |

 Here are some fishies that died in my care. Most things do. In fact, it's a miracle that my mom is alive after being cared for by me. I killed a friggen cactus last year. |
| "I can't believe you posted those pictures of me Kimmy! So flattering. And in answer to the question everyone must be asking, yes, I was on continuous IV drip morphine and then getting extra doses when I wanted by pushing a little button. I was totally "gorked" as the nurses observed on several occassions. I did not remember Kim even taking the pictures, but now that I see them, I sort of remember the AGONY I was in. The surgeon who did this is the best we have around here but was mislead by a radiologist who read the CAT scan as appendicitis when it was a ruptured colon. The wound is an unfortunate result of that. However, I am scheduled to see a plastic surgeon and may in end in greater shape than ever! If so, I'll send y'all some of MY pictures so you won't feel so grossed out about this." - mom |
